Thanks for visting Guardian Custom Products and for viewing our Certificate of Good Standing issued by the State of Ohio
in 1923. This shows the date of Incorporation and the location within the records of Ohio and is typical of most state
records which can be used to validate a company's history. We decided to post this information on our website due to
some of the claims being stated by other table pad companies.

Guardian is a division of Ohio Table Pad Company, which was founded in 1918 by Chris Bricher. Originally from the Minneapolis, MN area, Chris married Della and shortly after moved to Toledo, OH. At the same time, Chris's, older brother John Bricher was involved in the ownership of Lydon-Bricher Manufacturing Company, who manufactured as one of their
products a line of table pad protectors. Our records show a patent issued in 1908 to a John L. McKay for a device similiar
to today's custom table pad being used at that time by Lydon-Bricher Manufacturing.

Lydon-Bricher which later became McKay Table Pad Company and Ohio Table Pad Company, grew along parallel lines
since those early days, selling mostly custom table pads to Furniture and Department stores, eventually expanding into
selling direct to you the consumer.

To our knowledge there were no other table pad companies in existence until the WWII era. However, there did appear to
be a very rapid growth of table pad companies after the war through about the 1980's, when a consolidation began while
other companies began to close. Factors influencing the reduction in the number of table pad companies vary from the
economics of running a small business in an every changing world economy to the lack of interest in second generation ownership. At this time we estimate there are about 5 or 6 companies manufacturing custom table pads.

Today Ohio Table Pad Company operates out of three locations, including two manufacturing sites located in Lagrange,
Indiana (since 1963) and Lawrenceville, Georgia (since 1952), with the corporate headquarters in Perrysburg, OH just
outside Toledo.

We are very proud of our history and have no problem with being the second oldest table pad company founded in the
